Chief's Executive Assistant

Under direction of the Chief of Police, the Executive Assistant performs a variety of confidential administrative duties; completes technical and functional tasks of a clerical nature; conducts filing, checking and recording information on records; processes routine requests for information; is responsible for routine purchasing and budget duties; maintains financial, statistical, and/or operational reports and records; assists in the support of administration in preparing agenda items, staff reports, assembling background material, attending meetings to take minutes, and typing minutes of meetings as assigned; screens calls, visitors, and mail; responds to letters and general correspondence of a routine nature; completes travel arrangements, maintains appointment schedules and calendars, arranges meetings and conferences; schedules facility reservations as necessary; processes various business and special use permits; and operates a variety of office equipment and software programs. The Chief’s Executive Assistant’s duties are administrative in nature and the incumbent performs work that requires the ability to reason through and solve complex problems. The incumbent will have occasional contact with public officials, state/federal/ local agencies, other public/private organizations, and the general public and is expected to have exemplary customer service skills.
