The Marysville Police Volunteers in Policing (VIP) are an integral part of the department. Marysville Police Department actively utilizes volunteers to perform traffic support, help with special events, neighborhood watch programs, and other community orientated functions. The objective is to supplement the Marysville Police Department with dedicated volunteers to supplement our staff. In order to accomplish this task, we recruit friendly, compassionate, and hard working people to help with various police functions including, but not limited to:

  • Assist with various special events

  • Fingerprint children as part of a community service

  • Assist with safety demonstrations and presentations

  • Provide deterrent patrol throughout the community

  • Locate nuisances and notify the appropriate supervisor

  • Conduct vacation house checks as part of Neighborhood Watch

  • Operate the front desk taking general questions and relaying them

  • Perform pickup/delivery services for the city, department, and courts

  • Provide clerical assistance throughout the Police Department
